Maryam Coulibaly is a 37-year-old journalist working and living in Abidjan, the economic capital of Cote d’Ivoire. She has diplomas in radio and print journalism, a diploma in development journalism, and a Masters Degree in English. She works as Chief editor for regional correspondents at Agence Ivoirienne de Presse (www.aip.ci).

Coulibaly became a journalist by chance, she says. In fact, her uncle realized that she was a good writer and she ended up believing it.

She then decided to make it her vocation and profession. She went to a journalism training at Institut des Sciences et Techniques de la Communication in Abidjan.
