Reuben, 35, is a print/radio freelancer in Nairobi, Kenya. He writes for local papers and the New York Times. He has also done work for Voices of Africa and a German radio station.

"It was a conviction - 'a calling' – more of a vocation. So I wanted to be able to provide information and to educate people, especially about what is happening around and also to create awareness on a number of issues. Because Africa, we are faced with a lot of challenges, so I really wanted to be part of that movement of creating awareness across the region. Journalism was kind of a vehicle to achieve that kind of a goal."
