Faksy, 33, is currently living in Serrekunda town, the biggest cosmopolitan town in The Gambia.

He became a journalist in November 2005. He works at a print private media house call “Foroyaa” Newspaper, (a “Mandingo” word meaning “Freedom”). The paper has been in existence since 1987.

Before he became a journalist, he worked with the Independent Electoral Commission, the country’s electoral body.

"I do it for the interest of the general public. More so to educate and enlighten the masses about happenings within their societies. Interims of human rights reporting, I did it to amplify the voice of the voice less when their rights have been violated."
